Based in Dundee, Scotland
Playhead is a puzzle-platformer based inside a media player that uses the familiar timeline ui to manipulate time and progress through the levels. We plan on having an early noughties web cartoon art style with a variety of environments and playlists to explore. The story is that you are a bot looking for glitches in the system and trying to fix them. The game will resemble online video sharing sites and will include a loose storyline told through the comments section allowing us to further showcase our Dislectek Tool.
The Playhead idea came about in 2010 but was brought into reality in prototype form in 2018 at a game jam where the theme was time. Ally realised it was easy enough to hook a unity slider to an animation and designed a bunch of levels exploring this mechanic. It has been on the back burner for a few years. Recently I was granted some funding from the UK Games Fund which will help us dedicate some serious dev time to it.
